People with low self-esteem may have a desire to be accepted by others, their opinion of themselves is often influenced by the opinions of others. They may have feelings of inadequacy, strive for perfection and fear evaluation and criticism from others.

Low self-esteem can be caused by a variety of factors such as negative experiences in the past, criticism or constant comparison with others, lack of support and praise in childhood, failure or trauma. Some people may also be more prone to low self-esteem because of their personality or genetic factors.

Low self-esteem can have a negative impact on a person's life, causing depression, anxiety, social isolation and interpersonal problems. People with low self-esteem may avoid new tasks and challenges due to fear of failure, and this can hinder their personal and professional growth.

However, low self-esteem can be changed and improved. It often helps to work with a professional, such as a psychologist, who can help explore the causes and help develop a healthy and realistic self-esteem. You can also practice positive thinking.
